ACTIVIES & FORUMS FRIDAY (April 9th) 2:30 P.M – 6:00 P.M. SUPERFEST OPEN SATURDAY (April 10th) 8:30 A.M – 11:15 A.M. V.E.TESTING – Bring a form of ID (driver’s license O.K.),the Original & Photocopy of your Ham license (if applicable) and any CSCE. Bring your HT or DF’er! SATURDAY FORUMS 8:45 – 9:30 A.M. (Open) 9:40 – 10:25 A.M. AN UP DATE ON CYCLE 24 – HOW’S IT DOING? WHAT TO EXPECT Carl Luetzelschwab, K9LA (Who is Carl, K9LA?) The current cycle started a bit sluggish but has recently been showing signs of increas- ing activity. Is it just behind schedule? Are the numbers going to skyrocket or will they be lower than anticipated? What's in store for the DX'er and low banders? Carl has some answers and presents it in an entertaining manner. Don’t miss it! 10:35 – 11:20 A.M. GROUNDING TECHNIQUES FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE & SAFETY Emmett Hohensee,WØQH (Chief engineer,Radiowavz,Inc.) No matter what the antenna – with proper grounding your signals will be stronger and for the small investment, you’ll be a lot safer. Emmett discusses his research and first hand experiences in creating an effective ground system. 11:30 A.M.– 12:15 P.M. PROPAGATION PLANNING FOR DXPEDITIONS Carl Luetzelschwab,K9LA, (Who is Carl, K9LA?) Expanding on this cycle 24 update and information on his own personal DX efforts and ham radio experiences,Carl discusses looking ahead and planning for a produc- tive portable operation or DXpedition – the locations,bands and hours of operation for best results,MUF issues,geomagnetic field activity issues,and low band issues. 1:35 – 2:45 P.M. WEATHER Michael Fish (Meteorologist,WTMJ-TV Milwaukee) Back by popular demand with more on dangerous weather conditions (lightning), storm spotting and safety. A a “video tour” of the WTMJ-TV weather faculties with Mike,behind the scenes explaining the forecasting tools (computers,radar,weather data, etc.) he uses to prepare his on the air presentations.
